Agreement to terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Gently Parenting ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What Gently Parenting is

Gently Parenting provides week-by-week guidance for your baby's first year. The content is written to be helpful and evidence-based, but it's not medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical concerns about you or your baby.

Subscriptions and billing

Gently Parenting is a paid subscription service. Here's how billing works:

How to cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time:

Cancellation stops future billing but doesn't provide a refund for the current billing period. You'll retain access until the end of the period you've paid for.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google, not by us directly. To request a refund:

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us immediately at support@gentlyparenting.app.

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Deleting your account removes your personal data but doesn't automatically cancel an active subscription. Cancel your subscription separately before deleting your account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Intellectual property

All content in Gently Parenting, including text, illustrations, design, and code, is owned by us or licensed to us. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

Disclaimer

Gently Parenting is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we work hard to ensure our content is accurate and helpful, we don't guarantee that it's complete, current, or suitable for your specific situation.

The app is not a substitute for professional medical advice. If your baby is unwell or you have concerns about their health or development, consult a healthcare provider.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts where the law allows.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Apple App Store (Standard EULA)

If you install Gently Parenting from the Apple App Store, the app is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), not sold. That agreement applies alongside these Terms of Service. You can read Apple's Standard EULA here: Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
